The Committee on Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth examines a wide variety of topics with social-policy relevance. Its activities are aimed at strengthening families, children and young people, making it easier for parents to combine family life with the demands of work, and promoting gender equality. At the same time, the committee deals with the core strategic choices in education policy. Against the background of the demographic changes that are occurring in society, the 38 members of the committee are particularly committed to the continuous further development of a framework that enables elderly people to live as independently as possible.
