The President and the Vice-Presidents constitute the Presidium of the Bundestag. It is elected for the duration of the electoral term. Members of the Presidium cannot be relieved of their office by a resolution of the Bundestag.

Julia Klöckner is the President of the German Bundestag and was elected on 25 March 2025.

She is supported by Vice-Presidents Andrea Lindholz (CDU/CSU), Josephine Ortleb (SPD), Omid Nouripour (Alliance 90/The Greens) and Bodo Ramelow (The Left Party).

The Presidium meets regularly each sitting week to discuss matters relating to the management of Parliament.

Among other things, it is involved in personnel matters of the Bundestag Administration and the conclusion of important contracts. Public relations matters are also discussed by the Presidium.

Each year, the President sets the level of state funding for political parties. This executive task is bestowed on the President by the Political Parties Act.
